COMPANIES, regardless of size, can manage and keep track of their fixed assets efficiently with SoftDomain Systems’ management software called Fixed Asset Pro 2002.
SoftDomain’s managing partner Christopher Chee said one of the unique features of Fixed Asset Pro 2002 over other similar software are the intuitive interface, ease of use, shorter learning curve and better report designs.
The software took a year to develop with the work done by Chee himself. He said Fixed Asset Pro 2002 was created using Clarion software.
“Fixed Asset Pro 2002 performs depreciation and capital allowance analysis but it also calculates the capital allowance for taxation purpose,” he said.
He added that data from spreadsheet programs can be imported and exported to Fixed Asset Pro 2002.
In addition, users can generate standard and customised reports from these data. The software also comes with built-in password access control which can be customised by any authorised user.
Other standard features of Fixed Assets Pro 2002 are keeping track of maintenance and repair records for each asset, keeping track of all maintenance contracts for assets, keeping track of all asset transfer details from one location to another, storing, viewing and printing digital images of asset.
The software comes in three editions – Standard, Enterprise and Corporate.
The Standard edition is for a single-user system that comes with basic features and functionalities.
However, there will be no import and export data capability, password features and report generation capability.
Targeted at small companies and small office-home office users, the Standard edition is priced at RM1,145.
The Enterprise and Corporate editions, on the other hand, provide all the standard features as well as others not available in the Standard edition.
The Enterprise edition comes with five-user licences for a single company while the Corporate edition offers up to 10-user licences with unlimited companies, including subsidiaries.
The latter is targeted at accountants and consultants who work for multiple companies. The Enterprise and Corporate editions are priced at RM2,288 and RM5,726 respectively.
Fixed Asset Pro 2002 runs on Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP and Windows NT environments. Chee said software support is provided via electronic mail (e-mail) and attended to within 24 hours.
Currently, the software is being used by local hotels and security firms.
Chee said the sales for Fixed Asset Pro 2002 in the overseas market have been encouraging with close to 40 units sold since last year. “The Enterprise edition has been selling well, and our biggest sales came from the United States,” he said, adding that the software is being marketed online and enquiries have been received from the US, Greece and India. “We also are exploring the option of marketing this product in China.”
Chee plans to develop a full-fledged accounting software that integrates with the fixed asset management program.
Users can download a 30-day trial version of Fixed Asset Pro 2002 from the company’s Web site at http://www.softdomain.net.
